Preceptor Introduction

	Wu-Chou Lin (林武周) MD. Director of the Department of O&G at CMUH and former President of the Taiwan Association for Minimally Invasive Gynecology (TAMIG) from 2004 to 2010, and President of The Asia- Pacific Association for Gynecologic Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Therapy (APAGE) during 2010.
	Lian-Shung Yeh (葉聯舜) MD. Director of Gynecology and President of the Taiwan Association of Gynecologic Oncologist & Taiwanese Menopause Society. Led the amendment of the Taiwan National Health Research Institute’s clinical gynecology cancer guide. Past Research fellow of gynecologic cancer at Stanford University.

Introduction

The Gynecology branch of the department provides complete prevention and treatment measures for diseases of the female reproductive system. With over 30 years of experience in endoscopic minimally invasive surgery and laparoscopic surgery for treatment of endometrial and cervical cancer, the unit also works closely with the CMUH cancer center. Other procedures often conducted include urinary incontinence and pelvic reconstructive surgery.

Trainees focus primarily in three main procedures: (1) Laparoscopic surgery for benign uterine neoplasm, benign ovarian neoplasm, endometriosis, adhesion, radical hysterectomy, and pelvic reconstruction; (2) Hysteroscopy surgery including transcervical resection of endometrial polyps (TCRP), transcervical resection of submucous fibroids (TCRM), transcervical resection of the endometrium (TCRE), and TCR-metroplasty; (3) Robotic surgery for hysterectomy, radical hysterectomy, and staging operations.
