Thank you for your interest in our clinical observership at CHINA MEDICAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL, TAIWAN. Please read the following guidelines and consider if the programme meets your learning objectives and the clinical practice requirements of your school.
Regulations and Requirements
According to relevant Taiwan laws and regulations, observers are NOT allowed to provide any type of DIRECT care, treatment or service to patients. All submitted application materials must be written in or translated to either English or Chinese. The maximum length of the programme is 8 weeks.
Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled in a medical school and in the final two years of a degree programme. Applicants are
strongly suggested to have either Chinese or English language skills.
Application Materials
Application Deadline: At least 3 MONTHS prior to desired start date
Training Fee: Decided by the training department
Financial Resources: The hospital does not provide a stipend or other financial support. Applicants should prepare for living, traveling, and insurance expenses for the entire duration of the program.
Taiwan Visa: After acceptance, applicants need to obtain a travel visa to Taiwan, which requires a valid Passport expiring at least 6 months after the end date of the training program.
Registration Info: On the first day of training, observers must register with the Department of Education (~8:30AM).
The Hospital does not provide uniforms or white coats; applicants are required to bring their own.
Certification and Student Evaluation
Any documentation (such as proof of enrollment or signed evaluation forms) you wish to obtain from CMUH other than the participation certificate must be requested before arrival. In failure to do so, CMUH can refuse to provide such documentation. Certificate will not be issued if the student misses 20% or more of the observership.
